When this card destroys an opponent's monster as a result of battle and sends it to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon 1 "Hydrogeddon" from your Deck.

Hello and welcome to this weeks article. This week we will be reviewing the beastly Hydrogeddon. Hydrogeddon is used a lot like Asura Priest, just you are limited to at most 3 attacks, where as with Asura Priest you can attack as many times as there are monsters on your opponents side of the field. Hydrogeddon can help get rid of those pesky Nimble Momonga and Giant Germ thus clearing up the field unless they have another monster(obv). For a monster with 1600 attack points, it can hold its own, but its prey for Cyber Dragon and of course just about any other level 5 or 6 monster. Its the same case with Breaker the Magical Warrior.

Now lets discuss some of Hydrogeddon's pro's. Like Asura Priest it can get rid of monsters like Nimble Momonga and Mystic Tomato. Hydrogeddon can also help get field advantage and in the process you could probably ruin your opponents strategy. Not only can this card trample but it also helps swarm the field. This is probably the strongest level 4 swarming monster in the game. If you are running a swarm deck, running 3 of this with cards like Marauding Captain and Gilasaurus and can deal some heavy damage. Some people run this card in Cookie Cutter decks. People run 2x or 3x Rush Recklessly to give Hydrogeddon the boost it needs to survive Cyber Dragon and help get you a free summon. It also helps lure in your opponent as well. This card needs some skill in my opinion, because it can easily be avoided.

With all that said lets move on to the con's of Hydrogeddon. One of the first down falls to this card that automatically comes to mind would be Bottomless Trap Hole. Normal Summoning this monster or Special Summoning this monster can trigger Bottomless Trap Hole which can mess up the strategy you are aiming for. This card is also a target for Enemy Controller and Book of Moon. Something that can switch this monsters battle mode once you declare an attack with it can pose a threat to this card just as much as cards like Mirror Force and Sakuretsu Armor. This card is also targeted by Trap Hole, as well as the deadly D.D. Warrior Lady, Dimensional Warrior and D.D. Assailant.

This concludes this weeks article. Im sorry this one isnt as long or as good as the other ones but I didnt have much time to do this and am on a tight schedule...

Thanks for reading,

A decent article..........and I'd have to agree that I'd take Hydrogeddon over Asura Priest anyday.

While Asura might have slighter higher ATK and able to attack everything, at least Hydrogeddon gives you some field presence unlike Asure which returns to your hand at end of turn.

Asura >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Hydro.

Kai Hiwatari - November 28, 2006 11:50 PM (GMT)
I run Hydro and it works for me. Though, I cant really say if Hydro or Asura is better because I dont have an Asura.

Lol, I got a common Asura for $.25. xD Hydrogeddon at least gives you something to tribute, like Treeborn Frog and Twin-Headed Behemoth. Hydrogeddon is a nice beatstick like Asura, but imo I would have to take Hydrogeddon over Asura, basically the reason why was given by E-Hero Master said.

Hydro is good. I was thinking of running a cc kind of deck, but with the 3 hydros, 3 mobius, 1 treeborn, and maybe 1 other monster and throw in 1 or 2 of that confiscation for water monsters. But the only problem with hydro is gravekeepers spy. It just haxes hydro's effect lol.

[Chaos]Knight - December 2, 2006 06:01 AM (GMT)
Yea, I noticed that a lot lately. People at my locals are starting to run Spy again.

Eh, not rly.
