Is he the future? Are monarchs always going to be in top tier decks?

Discuss.

He is good, many say he'll replace zaborg but I think all of them work the best as a team. I run one of each in my highlander and I'm glad for it.

More than likely he'll be limited to 1 per deck. But when he's released run him in 3s while you have the chance before they do limit him. And I'm totally sure on him replacing Zaborg because of the fact the monster could probably be resummoned later and bite ya in the butt. So Zaborg would remain I believe.

The new banlist doesn't have him limited yet (after all he still requires a sacrafice which would be the balancing factor).

Somewhat....but let's not overlook the fact he can return monster (usually the high level ones he'll be used against) and spells/traps. This is clearing the field. Second is placing the card at the top of the deck, which prolongs getting cards you need. Taking away draw advantage on the opponent's part. Then there is 2400 atk. points comin at ya. A lot power I'd say.

no monarch will ever be put on the banlist.

period.

although raiza is clearly the best of the 5.

spin > destruction

idk i still like zaborg so i run 2 zaborgs an3 raizas at the moment but that DEFINATELY puts gramarg out of the picture

if you run a solid lineup with 3 thestalos and 3 raiza, with 2 or 3 brain controls, they shouldn't be able to keep a monster on the field, making zaborg a 4th place monarch behind mobius in the current competitive metagame.
