bounce, spin, mill, turbo...
all originally terms from M:TG.

Clearly it's because Magic is older and better than Yu-Gi-Oh, but are there any other reasons perhaps?

Because they're the same themes and the terms are widely known.

I agree that magic is better, it takes a lot more thought than YuGiOh, and there's not as much net decking going around (Though there is still some).
