Make a trash forum and move the advert topics to them. Jeez.

It's more of a problem that the staff can't be on all day to get rid of them then anything. Imo, we should require email validation for new members. It stops bots, and a normal person won't mind spending an extra 10 seconds to join.

Umm, not to spoil your beans or anything, but E-Mail validation is on.
