There's a brand-new event series kicking off next Saturday, April 7th at Toys 'R' Us, and it's just for Duelists 17 and under! Throw Down events are a whole new way to Duel: they're intense, fast, and there are some great prizes up for grabs! There are 4 Throw Downs happening this Summer, at every Toys 'R' Us location.

Toys'R' Us Throw Down

How does a Throw Down work? Just show up to your local Toys “R†Us with an Advanced Format Deck and be ready to play. You'll pair off with another Duelist, find a table, and throw down! While you're getting your game on, other Duelists and new arrivals will be waiting in the wings. The winner gets to stick around for another Duel, while the not-so-lucky Duelist heads to the back of the line to wait for another chance. There will be more than one game going on at a time, so you won't have to wait long to get back in the action!

At the end of the day, the Duelist with the most total wins will be crowned King of the Hill. That's an important title, because the winner of each Throw Down gets invited back to the final event later this year for a special challenge!

You can win some pretty sweet stuff! Every Duelist gets a prize pack just for playing. It includes a Yu-Gi-Oh! Poster, a TCG Pocket Guide, a GX Sticker Sheet, and a Token Card. These cards have pictures of Chazz's wacky Ojama monsters on them, but you can use them for any Token you like. Each of the first three Throw Downs will have a different Token. Go to all of the Throw Downs, and you'll collect a full set of Ojama Green, Ojama Black, and Ojama Yellow!

The Top 3 players get even more swag! There's a special oversized Foil Trophy Card for each Throw Down winner, and there are also three GX Dorm Patches: one for each dorm at Duel Academy. The patches are self-adhesive, so you can stick them on just about anything. The winner will get first choice between Obelisk Blue, Ra Yellow, and Slifer Red, as well as a Yu-Gi-Oh! GX DVD. Second place gets to take their pick of the two remaining Dorm Patches, and they get a DVD too. Third place gets the final Dorm Patch, and another DVD will be awarded for good sportsmanship!

The fourth Throw Down is the Store Championship. This event's a bit different, and it really finishes things off in style! The winners of the first three events are going to be invited back, and this time they don't give up their seats if they lose a Duel. Instead, they take on all comers in an endurance-testing Duel-bonanza! The Duelist with the most victories at the end of the day gets another Trophy Card! This one's bigger, cooler, and you can only get it for winning the title of Store Champion.

Didn't win one of the first three? No worries, because there are even more prizes up for grabs at the fourth and final event! Scapegoat Tokens AND Ojama Tokens will both be given out at the last Throw Down, and you'll have to come out to see what other awesome stuff we've got in store. You won't be disappointed!

The first Throw Down happens Saturday, April 7th, and the next two are in May and June. Call your local Toys 'R' Us to find out when things kick off this Saturday.Get your best Deck ready, show up, and Throw Down for some awesome prizes!

Sounds lame, regular tournaments are much more fun.

actually, the first throwdown wasn't that bad. you're bound to get the swarm of players who aren't great, but at the same time, you find alot of good players go just to snag prizes and gain cred in the area.

free prizes are free. Since when is free not good?
