The fact of the matter is that the bots make the topics too quickly. The mods will clean them up and they'll be a new topic a few minutes later.

There's supposedly a program called Spam Poison, its free and all you do is put a button on your site that links back to them and it sucks up the bots and redirects them. *shrugs* I had it on my site I had a while back and bots stopped o.o
